Bird Hike Report

There were thunderstorms in the forecast and one couple cancelled, however, at 6am this morning it was clear, sunny and 15 degrees.  We were 7 in all and started out listening for birds in the parking lot before heading up the trail to lac Spruce. About halfway to Lac Spruce the rain started and then got heavier and heavier until we were all soaked.  We heard thunder and headed back down, cutting our hike short.

There were not as many birds out as usual. In addition to this list I heard a thrush sing just before the rain but it was so quick I could not tell if it was a wood thrush or hermit thrush.  It only sang once!

10 species.

  • Black-and-white Warbler
  • Black-throated Blue Warbler
  • Black-throated Green Warbler
