27 May Birding Activity Report – Lac Spruce
We had a pleasant Saturday morning hike rewarded with the idyllic, lake spruce. On the way up to the lake we learned mnemonics to the songs of the black-eyed blue warbler, the ovenbird, the red eyed vireo and the black-throated green warbler. As we approached the lake an elusive Canada warbler greeted us and once at the lake, warblers were singing all around, including the magnolia warbler and blackpole warbler. If you did not know how warblers sing this was a good hike to get an idea!
Thanks to all the participants, including the family of 8 from Drummondville. Welcome to Sutton. Thank you Marika the organizer and Catherine for the photo.
