15 Jun Bird Hike Report

Today was a great day for birding.  Our group of six met at the Hotel Horizon parking lot and spent about 1 hour  looking, and especially listening, to birds in the field across the street. Then we headed up the path towards the Hutopia central lodge where an eastern wood-pewee stayed on the same high perch for at least 30 minutes. After a short break at the lodge we continued on trail 3 towards the river and turned back at the river.

There were many highlights but the best for me were the Nashville Warbler and the family of Brown Creepers!
